Great chicken gyros. Great sauce . Simply good eats. Surprisingly great cakes! Not sure why they are so good but range between 8-10 on scale with my wife kids and co workers.
PROs - good food (meat) , good service , nice location CONs- not much for veggie lovers First timer .. good location... right on oak tree and park ave . Lots of other shops in this strip mall. Lots of parking ... gets busy on weekends and peak hours .. they also sell baklava and few other sweets ... We ordered gyros .. we also asked for extra meat . So the quantity was really good . We saw them prepare the chicken gyro and it was just awesome . Meat was juicy and tasted perfect . Goes well with rice , salad ... kids liked it . There was felafel but very limited options for veggie lovers. Lots of place to sit and dine . Overall a good spot for a quick lunch.. priced good .
HMS Certified It is now called Taj Grill & Gyro Main reason I came here was because of the HMS halal certification. I got a chicken and lamb platter. I customize mine for less rice and double the chicken. It was pretty good. They have plenty of sauces to choose from. They have other things on the menu. Menu is a little all over the place, but I'd stick with the classic mixed platter. Service is solid and they have decent seating inside. Ambiance is a of a quick little grab and ho with basic seating if you decide to dine in "no frills". Exactly what you would expect from a spot like this. Overall solid spot, I'll be back iA.
Now named "Taj Gyro and Grill" Clean and quick service. You'll get a classic chicken over rice experience with a lot of bang for your buck, without any of the street cart greasiness or taste of being spoiled. It's not gourmet but it's a cut above your average fast food situation. The rice is fragrant and tender, the meat is quite flavorful even without the sauce. I loved that they have fresh smoothies available, with plenty of flavors including rose! The mango pineapple was the perfect balance to the rich chicken and beef over rice.
Wow!! I have driven past this place time & time again & today was the day I stopped. I have been on a real Gyro kick lately & have had about 1 a week from different places. I jokingly said 'Gyro King' better live up to the name.....& they did. This Gyro (lamb/beef) just put everyone to shame, including my usual "go-to." I've been adding seasoning to them to get them to where I like, but this gyro did not need ANY help. It was perfect on its own. I'm so glad I stuck to my usual taking a few bites without any sauce/seasoning (depending on what it is). This is my NEW Go-To spot!! I'm so glad to have "found" this place I've been driving past for Years, lol.
Good spot for a rice platter. Got the chicken platter with salad. Pretty good portion size for $9. The chicken was very flavorful and the rice was cooked perfect (soft & seasoned well). The veggies for the small side salad were very fresh as well. Nice and simple platter. They do a cash discount. I didn't see the totals getting ringed up but it seemed to be about 5%. The guy working behind the counter was very friendly and didn't mind when I asked for extra lettuce for my salad. Great customer service. Suggestion : Get the sauce on the side for many reasons : 1) Gauge how spicy it is, can dip & try first 2) Does make the salad soggy when mixed in 3) If you have leftovers, stays longer without the sauce Enjoy!!!!!
Stopped by recently to grab some lunch. I ordered the falafel sandwich and my boyfriend got the gyro platter. Once I got home I realized that I didn't receive my salad. My sandwich was good, I wish I would have asked for some white sauce on the side. I tried my boyfriends gyro platter and it was flavorful. The portion was pretty generous.
